MLB Weekly Betting Preview

Cleveland has jumped out as a good early wager on the MLB betting lines with two series sweeps in a row. The Indians next start a set with the Angels on Monday. The Indians will be +170 underdogs at Sportsbook.ag in the opener against Dan Haren (2-0), who gets the ball for the Angels.

Cleveland swept the struggling Red Sox before disposing of Seattle in three straight. Mitch Talbot (0-0) goes to the mound for the Indians on Monday; he had a no-decision in his only outing this season.

The Angels could have the edge in the first game of the three-game set with Haren on the mound, but it’s the Indians who have won two straight series against the Angels. Cleveland could be the more popular choice in this series on the MLB betting lines.

Seven straight head-to-head contests have made winners of UNDER bettors in totals betting.

Another interesting MLB betting series kicking into gear on Monday pits the Los Angeles Dodgers up against the defending-champion San Francisco Giants.

The Dodgers won a season-opening four-game set 3-1 over the Giants, who will be favorites at home for the opener and likely the series. The Giants were undefeated at home before falling in their series finale against the Padres on Sunday.

Clayton Kershaw (1-1) will open the series on the hill for the Dodgers, while Madison Bumgarner (0-1) seeks his first win of the season after getting pulled in only three innings in his opener.

San Francisco has won two of the last three series versus the Dodgers and should be overall series favorites with Tim Lincecum and Jonathan Sanchez scheduled for Games 2 and 3 respectively.

The Dodgers have Chad Billingsley as their probable Game 2 starter, and he has had success head-to-head with the Giants. Game 3 projected starter Ted Lilly is 3-3 against the Giants, and this could be a good underdog series to wager the Dodgers on the MLB betting lines.

The Yankees welcome Baltimore for a three-game series that gets underway on Tuesday with the Orioles still undefeated on the road at 3-0.

Chris Tillman (0-0) will start the opener for the Orioles, while A.J. Burnett (2-0) will likely make the Yankees a solid pick for this game on the MLB betting lines.

Phil Hughes is the probable starter on Wednesday for the Yankees, with Baltimore's starter for that contest still to be determined. The Orioles could have the edge in Thursday’s series finale, though, with Jake Arrieta undefeated at 2-0 against the Yankees. Ivan Nova is the scheduled starter for the Yankees.

The Yankees have won two of the last three series against the Orioles, with seven of the last eight head-to-head matchups sending UNDER bettors to the payout window in totals betting.
