Orioles, A's have books sweating

Upstarts like the Baltimore Orioles and Oakland A’s have some sportsbooks sweating in the last two days of baseball’s regular season.

Heading into Tuesday’s action the Orioles trailed the New York Yankees by one game in the American League East.
The Orioles were 100-to-1 to win the division at Bovada, which, according to a representative, would cost the book a “six-figure” loss.
On the other hand, Bovada is rooting for the A’s to catch the Texas Rangers in the AL West. The Rangers were the favorites in the division and the AL for most of the year. The A’s winning the division would be a big winner for the book.
The A’s trail the Rangers by one game, but host Texas today and Wednesday. If Oakland wins tonight, it would set up a Wednesday afternoon game to decide the division.
The Orioles round out the season in Tampa Bay. They will be scoreboard-watching to see if the Boston Red Sox can give them any help by winning in New York over the next two days.
