Huge total for Reds-Cubs betting
With 21mph winds blowing out at Wrigley Field the total on tonight’s Cincinnati Reds-Chicago Cubs game opened at a fat 14. This is the 11th time a game has had a total of 14 since 2001. The under is 6-4 in the previous 10.
There also have been 11 games since 2001 with a total of 14.5, with most coming during the steroid era and at Coors Field.
Bovada took the total off the board for awhile Wednesday afternoon.
The wind is expected to be blowing out to left field at Wrigley.
"Most of the coin is on the UNDER, including a couple sharp hits," said BetOnline brand manger Dave Mason.
Mike Leake is on the mound for the first–place Reds, who are averaging 4.26 runs and are third in the National League in home runs. Leake has surrendered an average of 4.0 runs in his last five starts against the Cubs.
Rookie Chris Rusin starts for the Cubs. He had a rough outing against Washington, giving up five runs in one inning, but has improved in his last two starts. He has never faced the Reds.
