The Big Maple Posts Big Earnings in Seattle

The end is near for over half of the teams in baseball but the Rangers and Mariners are still scratching and clawing in the race for the final wild-card playoff spot. Seattle, though, has now dropped five consecutive contests and has a tough schedule to close out the season.

SHARK BITES
  • The Mariners are 7-2 SU in their last 9 games with James Paxton as the starting pitcher.
  • The Rangers are 8-3 SU in their last 11 games against left-handed starting pitchers.
  • The total has gone UNDER in 8 of the Mariners’ last 10 games against left-handed starting pitchers.

Seattle will, however, feel confident with the Big Maple James Paxton (12-4, 2.98 ERA) taking the bump tonight. The lefty has been terrific at home, posting a 2.33 ERA in 12 starts in the Wired City. He has run into a little trouble in his last two outings, allowing six runs in 7.2 innings of work, but Pax is primed for a rebound this evening.

The Rangers will send a southpaw of their own to the hill with Cole Hamels (10-4, 3.96 ERA) up next in the rotation and he’s been not good in three starts against the Mariners (4.76 ERA).

With both offenses providing incredibly inconsistent offensive performance of late, it’s tough to not like the Mariners with how good the Pax has been in 2017.
