NASCAR Odds: Subway Fresh Fit 500

Jimmie Johnson will be looking to build on his Daytona 500 victory this weekend as he sits atop the NASCAR betting odds at the sportsbooks for the 2013 Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway.

Johnson paid off on the Sprint Cup Series lines last weekend with a victory in the season-opening Daytona 500. Dale Earnhardt Jr., Mark Martin, Brad Keselowski, and Ryan Newman rounded out the Top 5 at that race, while Danica Patrick turned in an eighth-place result.

And for this week Johnson is listed as the +500 favorite on the opening odds to win the Subway Fresh Fit 500 at TopBet, with each of Keselowski, Kyle Busch, and Denny Hamlin just behind him on that list at +800 odds.

Hamlin won last year's Subway Fresh Fit 500, with Kevin Harvick, Greg Biffle, Johnson, and Keselowski following him across the finish line that day. Busch, Martin Truex Jr., Jeff Gordon, Martin, and Joey Logano made up the Top 10 at that event at Phoenix International Raceway.

Matt Kenseth finished back in 13th place at the Subway Fresh Fit 500 in 2012, and he's tied with Kasey Kahne at +1000 on the opening NASCAR odds at TopBet for this weekend. Gordon and Tony Stewart both hold down +1200 odds, with Harvick at +1500 along with Clint Bowyer, Biffle, Carl Edwards, and Earnhardt Jr.

Patrick is a longshot at +30,000 to win the Subway Fresh Fit 500 on Sunday afternoon.

Matt Kenseth took the checkered flag in the Daytona 500 on Monday, but he’s not favored for a repeat finish when the drivers of NASCAR hit the track for the 2012 Subway Fresh Fit 500 at Phoenix International Raceway this weekend.

Carl Edwards is the favorite at 5Dimes for a victory at +750. Edwards finished second to Tony Stewart in the Sprint Cup Series standings last season and looks to get an early boost in Phoenix. Kyle Busch, Jimmie Johnson, and Stewart are next at +850 on the Subway Fresh Fit 500 betting lines; Johnson won this race back in 2008.

Jeff Gordon had a disastrous week at the Daytona 500, and as the defending Subway Fresh Fit 500 champion he'll need a turnaround to win back-to-back titles at this race. Gordon is at +1000 on the NASCAR betting lines and is a two-time champion of this race, earning the checkered flag in 2007 as well.

Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin are then at +1050, followed by Kasey Kahne at +1100, with Daytona champ Kenseth coming in next at 5Dimes at +1300. Brad Keselowski had a breakout year on the Sprint Cup Series circuit and finished fifth in the standings in 2011; he's at +1600 on the NASCAR lines.

Ryan Newman was inside the top ten at Daytona until a mishap on the track took him out of contention. Newman took the Subway Fresh Fit 600 in 2010 and has four consecutive Top-5 finishes in Phoenix, but he's still a longshot at +2200 at 5Dimes.
