NASCAR: Sprint Unlimited Odds

The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series kicks off this weekend with the Sprint Unlimited at the Daytona International Speedway on Saturday night, and a familiar face is the favorite to win the race.

Dale Earnhardt Jr., who placed ninth in the race in 2015, is a +500 favorite at online sportsbook Bovada. Junior is a two-time Sprint Unlimited winner, having won the race in 2008 and 2003. He’s coming off of three first place finishes in 2015, and will be looking to become the first driver to win a Sprint Cup Series race at Daytona since the track underwent a $400 million renovation.

Jimmie Johnson is second on the odds list at +800, and the driver will be looking to add a second Sprint Unlimited win to his resume. Johnson had a disappointing showing in last year’s race — finishing 22nd as a result of an accident. 2015 was a strong year for Johnson in the win department, who finished the year with five first place finishes.

Last year’s winner, Matt Kenseth, comes in at +1200. The win in the non-points race was one of five first place finishes for Kenseth in 2015. It’s worth noting that since 2001, there’s been two back-to-back Sprint Unlimited winners (Tony Stewart 2001 and 2002, Kevin Harvick 2009 and 2010).

If you’re looking for a value pick, last year’s second place finisher, Martin Truex Jr., might be your guy at +1800. Despite winning just one race in 2015, Truex Jr. finished fourth in the Sprint Cup standing, mainly thanks to 22 top ten finishes.

Here’s a look at the odds for Saturday’s race:
