Quaker State 400 Betting Odds

Carl Edwards has dropped out of the top spot in the Sprint Cup Series driver standings, but he's still the sportsbooks' favorite to visit Victory Lane on Saturday night in the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway.

Edwards ran into problems last weekend at Daytona's Coke Zero 400 and ended up back in 37th place. That gave Kevin Harvick (who finished seventh) the opening he needed to take over first place in the Sprint Cup driver standings after 17 events.

Edwards, though, is set as the 7/1 favorite at Bovada to win the Quaker State 400 this weekend. This will be the Sprint Cup Series' first-ever event on the track, although the Nationwide Series has competed there in years past. Edwards finished second in the Nationwide Series' Meijer 300 at Kentucky last season.

Following Edwards on this week's odds list at Bovada are Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch at 8/1, with Kurt Busch at 9/1, and each of Denny Hamlin, Greg Biffle, Matt Kenseth, and Harvick at 11/1.

Harvick will be gunning for his series-high fourth victory of the season this weekend, and he heads into the race with just a slim five-point lead on Edwards in the driver standings. Harvick has 10 Top-10 finishes in 17 races this season; Edwards leads the way with 12, while Johnson and Kyle Busch each have 10 Top-10 results as well.

Jeff Gordon is at 12/1 this week, with Tony Stewart at 14/1, Dale Earnhardt Jr. at 15/1, and both Clint Bowyer and Kasey Kahne at 22/1. A popular middle-tier betting choice this week will likely be Joey Logano at 30/1; Logano took the checkered flag at the Nationwide Series' Meijer 300 in each of the past three seasons.

A longer shot with some momentum this week is David Ragan at 40/1. Ragan won the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona over the weekend, beating Kenseth and Logano across the finish line for his first victory of the season.

As for the NASCAR futures list at Bovada, Edwards leads the way at 3/1 odds to win the Sprint Cup this season, with Johnson and Kyle Busch at 5/1, Harvick at 6/1, Hamlin at 7/1, Kenseth at 8/1, and Earnhardt Jr. back at 10/1.
