Sprint Cup Odds: Geico 400

The Chase for the Sprint Cup starts on Sunday afternoon at Chicagoland Speedway, with the Geico 400 offering up the first NASCAR betting opportunity of the circuit's playoff schedule.

And Denny Hamlin leads the way atop the adjusted driver standings heading into the Chase with 2012 points thanks to his series-leading four wins this season. That has him just ahead of Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, and Brad Keselowski, who each won three races and sit at 2009 points.

Greg Biffle and Clint Bowyer are then at 2006 points, with Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Matt Kenseth at 2003 points, and Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr., Kasey Kahne, and Jeff Gordon rounding out the Chase field at 2000 points. Kahne and Gordon claimed the Chase's Wild Card berths.

Of those 12 drivers in the Chase field four have visited Victory Lane at Chicagoland in the past, with Stewart (2011, 2007, 2004) and Harvick (2002, 2001) leading the way with multiple wins apiece on the track.

Gordon (2006) and Earnhardt Jr. (2005) have also crossed the finish line in first place at Chicagoland, as have non-Chase drivers David Reutimann (2010), Mark Martin (2009), Kyle Busch (2008), and Ryan Newman (2003).

Heading into the Geico 400 on Sunday afternoon Johnson is the leader at 9/4 on the NASCAR futures at Bovada to win the Sprint Cup this season, followed by Hamlin (5/1), Earnhardt Jr. (8/1), Keselowski (9/1), and Gordon (9/1).

Kahne and Stewart both sit at 10/1 on the Sprint Cup odds at Bovada, with Biffle and Kenseth at 12/1, and each of Bowyer, Harvick, and Truex Jr. back at 18/1.
