Subway Fresh Fit 500 Betting Preview
Denny Hamlin and Jimmie Johnson had Daytona 500 finishes they would like to forget, but both drivers are sitting at just +500 for the Subway Fresh Fit 500 on Sunday.
Hamlin and Johnson still draw high praise, and with just one race completed in the Sprint Cup season they should draw most of the attention on the NASCAR betting lines based on their one-two finish in the Chase in 2010. Ryan Newman held off a last-lap charge by Jeff Gordon to win last year’s race at Phoenix.
Gordon is at +1200 at Sportsbook.ag to improve on his runner-up finish.

Newman is at +2500 to take his second straight checkered flag at the Subway Fresh Fit NASCAR race. Kyle Busch has a lot of expectations from his crew - and also the media and fans - who believe he is a driver to be reckoned with in challenging the five-time defending champ Johnson.
Busch is at +700 along with Daytona 500 runner-up Carl Edwards on the NASCAR betting lines at Sportsbook.ag.
A darkhorse longshot is Marcos Ambrose. Ambrose is a driver who excels on the flat track and finished fourth in a spring race last year. Joey Logano finished third and tenth in his two Phoenix races last year and could be another underdog driver to consider at +2500. NASCAR betting lines offer top-three finish betting as well. Dale Earnhardt Jr. could be a good underdog wager in this department at +1200 to claim a spot in the top three. Kurt Busch won the Shootout and Duel 1 race last week, and could be a good pick for a finish within the top three at +550. One of the most consistent drivers on the NASCAR circuit and a threat on any type of track is Tony Stewart, who is at +350 to earn a spot on the podium.
Driver matchups could be another wagering opportunity for NASCAR bettors to cash in on. One of the more thrilling matchups features Juan Pablo Montoya, who finished fifth in Phoenix last year and is a -145 favorite to finish ahead of Dale Earnhardt Jr. (+115), who had only one top-five finish last season.
Johnson, who finished third in the Subway Fresh Fit race last year, is a clear favorite at -150 to cross the finish line before Sprint Cup third-place finisher Kevin Harvick, who is paying +120 at Sportsbook.ag in the driver matchups betting menu.
