NBA Friday Game Previews
Tonight the Orlando Magic, who have won 8 of their last 10 games, head to the desert to take on the Phoenix Suns, who have lost two in a row and are only 5-5 in their last 10 games.
Orlando Magic (17-5) vs. Phoenix Suns (15-7)
This season the Suns are 12-10 ATS and the Magic are 13-9 ATS and the Magic Suns odds show the Suns opened at -2.5 at sportsbook Bovada.
The Suns are the last team that has not been beat at home this season (7-0), but tonight they will be facing the Magic, who are the best road team so far this season (10-3).
The high-flying Suns’ offense has struggled in their last few games only averaging 96.8 ppg in four of their last five games after averaging 112 ppg in their red-hot start. However those four games were on the road and since they are at home tonight they may find their offensive groove.
Every Suns’ starter is averaging in double figures.
The Magic had won eight straight road games and were up 18 points against Utah in their last game before the Jazz came back and won.
Orlando ranks eighth in the league in points allowed (96.1 ppg) and they will have to play solid tonight against the Suns’ offense that ranks first in the league in points scored per game.
The Magic have to try to slow down PG Steve Nash (17.5 ppg), who leads the Suns and their fast-paced offense and also leads the NBA in assists so far this season (11 apg). If the Magic can slow the pace of this game they will be in great shape since they have a solid half court offense with Dwight Howard (18.4 ppg), Vince Carter (20.1 ppg), and Rashard Lewis (15.4 ppg).
Howard is a monster on the boards (12 rpg) and the Suns have to keep him from dominating the glass tonight, especially on the offensive end.
Saturday NBA odds
Phoenix Suns at Denver Nuggets
Both of these teams lead their respective divisions and, as of Friday, both teams have lost two games in a row. Denver has to play good defense against a Suns’ offense that is scoring the most points per game in the NBA this season. The Nuggets have only lost one game at home this season.
L.A. Lakers at Utah Jazz
The Lakers are the hottest team in the league, as they have won 10 in a row, as of Friday, but they have only played four road games this season. The Jazz are 7-3 in their last 10 games, but one of those losses was to the Lakers in La La Land where they fell apart in the fourth quarter only scoring six points and making two field goals in getting blown out.
Sunday NBA point spread preview
Houston Rockets at Toronto Raptors
As of Friday the Raptors are four games under .500 and the more they lose the less likely it may be that they can re-sign Chris Bosh. They need to start winning soon or the may miss out on the playoffs for the second year in a row. The Rockets are 6-4 in their last 10 games and they trail the Dallas Mavericks by only 2.5 games in the Southwest Division.
Cleveland Cavaliers at Oklahoma City Thunder
After it looked that the Cavs had learned to play with Shaq that may not be the case, as the Cavs have lost two in a row as of Friday. The Thunder are tow games over .500 and they are playing solid. Many thought they may be the team of the future, but they are battling it out for a playoff spot this season and they are 6-4 in their last 10 games.
