NBA Home Teams Becoming a Bad Bet?

Minnesota Timberwolves Andrew Wiggins

Playing at home has always been believed to be a boost for professional sports teams, but does that advantage consistently translate at the betting window? The 2015/16 NBA season has proven to be an example of home squads prevailing straight up but struggling to cover the spread in their own arenas.

As of Wednesday, November 18, home NBA teams were 93-71-0 SU but just 70-93-1 ATS. So, have oddsmakers been giving teams too much respect in front of their hometown fans? It's certainly not out of the question. Last season home clubs went 707-523 SU and 585-621-21 ATS -- more unspectacular numbers for spread bettors.

We decided to take a look at the worst home bets in the NBA this season to give you an idea on teams you may want to stay away from in the foreseeable future.
