Wall and the Wizards Face a Must-Win Game 3 in D.C.

The Boston Celtics continue to fire on all cylinders and will look to notch their seventh straight postseason win when the second-round Eastern Conference series with the Washington Wizards shifts to D.C. tonight. Sportsbooks opened the Wiz as 5.5-point home favorites with a total of 218.5 for the tilt.

Shark Bites
  • The Celtics are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as road underdogs.
  • The total has gone OVER in the Wizards' last three games.
  • The Celtics are 8-2 SU in their last 10 games against the Wizards.

Game 2 of the series was an absolute classic that ended with a 129-119 overtime win for the Celtics in which star point guard Isaiah Thomas poured in a ridiculous 53 points. Despite dealing with the tragic loss of his sister Chyna prior to the start of the postseason, Thomas has put the Celtics on his back in the playoffs.

He’s been getting plenty of help from big man Al Horford, who’s gone 16-for-22 from the floor in the series while logging a double-double in each of the first two contests.

On the flip side, Wizards point guard John Wall collected 40 points and 13 assists in Game 2 but it wasn’t enough to match Thomas. Wall’s backcourt partner Bradley Beal went just 1-for-9 from 3-point range in Game 2 after hitting four of seven in Game 1.

Washington is a different team at home compared to on the road, so it makes sense to see them tabbed as the favorites. The Wizards are 7-1 SU in their last eight home games and they’re 8-0 SU in their previous eight when labeled as favorites of 5.5 points or more.
