Cavs take punchless road record into Indiana

The Cleveland Cavaliers will waste no time trying to get back into the win column as they land in Indiana to face the Pacers. The Cavs were on the receiving end of a beatdown last night vs the Toronto Raptors and are now 1-7 SU in their last eight road games. If they plan to escape with a victory, they’ll have to do it without Isaiah Thomas, who will be held out of tonight’s contest.

SHARK BITES
  • The Pacers are 5-1 SU in their last six games vs their division at home.
  • The Cavaliers are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games.
  • The Cavaliers are 7-2 SU in their last nine games vs the Pacers.

Cleveland opened as a 1.5-point favorite vs the Pacers and it’s a puzzling line. The Cavaliers are 11-11 SU on the road this season and have a habit of coasting in games during the regular season. LeBron James and company may be a lock to go to their fourth straight NBA Finals but to place a wager on them recently is a sucker bet. The Cavs are 2-6 SU in their last eight games and tonight’s contest vs the Pacers is their second game in as many nights.

Indiana has been a mixed bag for most of the season but the Pacers can’t blame Victor Oladipo. The projected all-star has been a godsend for Indy this season as he’s averaging 24.3 points per game and he was missed immensely with injury as the Pacers went 0-4 SU in his absence. He’ll need to step up even more for tonight’s game as center Myles Turner is not expected to suit up for this showdown. Bettors will also be interested to know that in two games vs the Cavs, Indiana is 2-0 SU and ATS this season.

The total opened at 221 and with Thomas and Turner planning to sit out tonight, it’s hard to figure an OVER will come through for a payday. The UNDER has hit in all of the Cavaliers’ games when it’s the second game of a back-to-back and has hit in five of the last seven games in this matchup.
