Clippers Spurs Series Betting Odds

That the San Antonio Spurs are in the Western Conference semifinals comes as no surprise. But the Los Angeles Clippers? Yes, that might qualify as a surprise.

The Spurs, the No. 1 seed in the West, now meet the fifth-seeded Clippers, who pulled off a Game 7 road victory Sunday in Memphis, in a best-of-seven conference semifinals series starting Tuesday night.

BetOnline is listing San Antonio at -11.5 for Tuesday night's series opener (9:30 pm Eastern, TNT) with a total of 190.5. They also have the Spurs at -1200 for Game 1, with Los Angeles getting +800 to win straight-up.

Finally, Bovada is listing San Antonio as a -2500 favorite to win this series, with the Clippers getting +1200 to pull the upset.

On the NBA futures betting market, Bovada is lining the Spurs at 6/5 to win the Western Conference  and 3/1 to win the NBA championship, while longshot LA is getting 18/1 to win the West and 40/1 to win it all.

San Antonio, 50-16 during the regular season, rolled over Utah in four games in the first round of these playoffs to return to the conference semifinals after losing in the first round last year to Memphis.

Meanwhile the Clippers, who went 40-26 this season, endured a seven-game first-round series with the  fourth-seeded Grizzlies, winning Games 1 and 7 on the road to return to the conference semifinals for the first time since 2006.

The Spurs took two of three games from the Clippers during the regular season, but one of those victories came in overtime. San Antonio won the first game at home, blowing open a close game into the third quarter, then won the second matchup by three points in OT.

Los Angeles then beat the Spurs at The Barn 120-112 in early March, although San Antonio G Tony Parker missed that game with a sore leg.

All three of those games played 'over' on the totals.

Game 2 of this series will be played in San Antonio Thursday night (9:30 pm Eastern, ESPN), with Games 3 and 4 at Staples Center back-to-back Saturday and Sunday.
