Knicks host Heat on NBA lines

LeBron James has scored 50 points twice against the New York Knicks and needs no motivation as his Miami Heat (19-8 SU, 12-14-1 ATS) roll into the Big Apple as 5-point road favorites at Sportsbook.ag in NBA betting on Friday night.

The Knicks tried to lure James and Dwyane Wade in the offseason, but we all know how that turned out. However, the Knicks acquired power forward Amare Stoudemire, who is on a franchise-record nine-game streak with 30 or more points.

New York (16-10 SU, 18-7-1 ATS) had their eight-game winning streak snapped in a tough 118-116 loss to the Eastern-leading Boston Celtics on Wednesday. The Heat will be looking to extend their win streak to 11 games.

While the Knicks have a great record against the spread, they are just 6-5-1 ATS at home – and have only covered once in the previous five head-to-head with Miami. There’s no crystal ball, but the stars do line up for a Miami win and cover against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Totals bettors love it when these two match up, as six of the previous seven games have rewarded the OVER bet.

The Utah Jazz (18-8 SU, 16-10 ATS) have had a stranglehold on the New Orleans Hornets at 8-2 SU in 10 head-to-head meetings. The two will tip off in another interesting betting line Friday night when the Jazz are small 1-point road favorites at Sportsbook.ag.

The Hornets have 10 of their 15 wins at home and could provide formidable competition in this game. New Orleans (15-10 SU, 11-12-2 ATS) is second in the league in points allowed per game, but will need to get something going with their less-than-effective offense if they expect to pull off the upset.

It is expected to be a low-scoring affair and with a total of 189.5 at most books - UNDER bettors could be looking to cash out.

San Antonio will be huge favorites in NBA betting action on Saturday when they host a Memphis Grizzlies team that has just four wins against nine losses on the road this season.

With a sparkling 13-2 record at home, betting against the Spurs could be a risky proposition. San Antonio leads the league this season, but is just 3-2 SU and ATS over five head-to-head matchups.

Memphis exploded for 113 points in a decisive victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Wednesday, and combined with the Spurs' fifth-best offense it should give OVER bettors a leg up in NBA betting.
