Warriors Could Make History Tonight

A year’s worth of hype has culminated in one game: the Golden State Warriors can eclipse the Chicago Bulls’ 1995-96 season win record with a victory over the Memphis Grizzlies tonight. Sportsbooks are clearly expecting the Dubs to go all out, as Golden State has opened as a 17.5-point favorite at most shops.

Shark Bites
  • The Grizzlies are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games after an ATS loss.
  • The Warriors are 1-8 ATS in their last nine games as a favorite of 17.5 or more.
  • The total has gone UNDER in three of the Warriors' last four games with a closing total of 213.5 or less.

Thanks to a victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday – the first time the Warriors have won there since 1997 – the opportunity is monumentally easier now. It won’t be a walk in the park, however, as the Grizzlies pushed Stephen Curry and company to the brink last week in a 100-99 setback in Tennessee.

The Grizzlies are about to make some history as well, but it won’t get much attention from media members and hoops fans. Memphis is about to become the first team in NBA history to ever reach the postseason having used more than 23 players. The banged up Grizzlies have put 28 different players on the floor in an injury-riddled campaign.

This is the third time this year the Warriors are laying 19 points or more, and they've gone 0-2 ATS so far in that spot. If the game closes at +19.5, it will be the biggest spread ever faced by Memphis, topping the +19 mark on November of 1996 when they played in Vancouver.

The UNDER is trending ahead of this one. In the last nine matchups between the squads, the UNDER has gone 8-1.
