Heat are Excellent at Bouncing Back

After a pair of blowout losses, the Charlotte Hornets bounced back in a big way in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference first-round series with the Miami Heat. Charlotte stormed back on Saturday, topping Miami 96-80 thanks to a strong performance from rookie Frank Kaminsky. Game 4 goes tonight in Charlotte.

Shark Bites
  • The Hornets are 2-5 ATS in their last seven games as home favorites.
  • The Heat are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games as an underdog of 3.0 or less.
  • The Hornets are 8-1 SU in their last nine games as favorites.

Miami has been a fantastic bounce back bet, however. The Heat are 9-0 SU in their last nine coming off a loss. The Heat, who opened as 2.5-point underdogs, are also 10-4 ATS in their previous 14 when tabbed as dogs of three points or less.

While the Hornets walked away with the W in Game 3, they’ll need to improve their shooting if they wish to have a fighting chance for the rest of the series. Charlotte shot only 38.9 percent from the field in the contest but were sharp in basically every other facet of the game, going 21-for-22 from the foul line while committing only four turnovers. Miami shot 19-for-30 from the charity stripe and turned the ball over 15 times.

Miami big man Hassan Whiteside sat out of Sunday’s practice with a bruised right thigh but the center has stated he’s receiving treatment and does not expect to miss Game 4.
