Monday Night NBA Betting

A sore elbow didn’t keep LeBron James and the Cavaliers from taking down the Celtics in Game 1. Can Boston rebound tonight in Game 2, or are the Cavs set to take a 2-0 series lead.

It looked like Boston was going to take advantage of an injured LeBron in Game 1 after jumping out to an early lead. Boston actually led 54-43 at halftime before LeBron and the Cavs picked it up in the second half of a 101-93 win as 7-point favorite at Bovada.

LeBron finished with 35 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, while Mo Williams poured in 20 points, 14 of which came in the third quarter during the Cavs’ big comeback.

Rajon Rondo led the Celtics with 27 points and 12 assists and Kevin Garnett also had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Ray Allen scored 14 points and Paul Pierce had only 13 points on a poor 5-of-17 shooting day.

The Cavs are a 6.5-point favorite in tonight’s game. After covering the spread in Game 1 the Cavs are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 versus the Celtics.

Also on tap in the NBA tonight is Game 1 between San Antonio and Phoenix.

This will be the fifth time the Spurs and Suns have met in the postseason since 2003. The Spurs will be hoping for the same result as in those previous meetings, as they won all four postseason matchups.

The Spurs enter the series after knocking off Dallas in six games. San Antonio won Game 6 97-87 as a 4.5-point favorite behind 26 points from Manu Ginobili and 21 points from George Hill.

Phoenix went six games with Portland in the opening round before putting the Trail Blazers away. The Suns won Game 6 99-90 as a pick’em, as Jason Richardson poured in 28 points and Amare Stoudemire had 22 points.

During the regular season the Suns won the season series against the Spurs 2-1. More importantly for bettors the Suns were 3-0 ATS. The Suns are a 4-point favorite in tonight’s series opener after going 4-2 ATS against Portland in the first round.
