NBA Christmas Day Odds

Only five games are on the NBA betting docket for Christmas Day, but it’s packed from start to finish with four division-leading teams in action.

Central-leading Chicago (18-9 SU, 17-9-1 ATS) tips off at noon against the New York Knicks (17-12 SU, 19-9-1 ATS), who are a surprising 7-7 at Madison Square Garden despite such a respectable record. [ Matchup Report and Betting Trends ]

This should play into the hands of the Bulls, but they are just a game above .500 on the road and lost earlier this season to the Knicks. It’s plausible that either team can win this game, but it’s a safer bet at sportsbooks like Bovada to play a cover in the Bulls' favor with a 9-4 ATS record on the road.

These teams have paid out to UNDER bettors in the majority of their games thus far, but the previous three head-to-head matchups have made winners of OVER bettors.

The Boston Celtics are riding a 14-game winning streak and take a solid road record into Orlando, which is 10-5 at home. The Magic (17-12 SU, 9-19-1 ATS) are not a high-scoring offense, and against a Celtics squad that is the toughest team in the league to score on it could be setting up well for UNDER bettors.

Boston (23-4 SU, 15-11-1 ATS) took out Orlando in six games in last year's playoffs, and the Magic will need to shut down the top field-goal shooting team in the league to exact revenge.

Boston is a stellar 9-4 ATS on the road, but the Magic are capable of an upset – and that could prove to be profitable for bettors of the home team.

NBA betting lines at Bovada will be revving up later in the day when LeBron James and the Miami Heat square off against Kobe Bryant and the likely home favorite Los Angeles Lakers.

Los Angeles (21-8 SU, 14-15 ATS) won’t be in a festive mood after getting shelled by lowly Milwaukee, who ended the Lakers' five-game winning streak heading into the holiday break. The teams have split their past four games, but the Heat has covered the spread in four straight head-to-head.

The Lakers are on a roll against the spread of late though, covering in four of the previous five games. Miami, meanwhile, has cooled off in the ATS column, covering in only one of their previous five contests heading into Thursday's action.

The Lakers are one of the top scoring teams at 105.5 points per game, while the Heat also tally upwards of 100 points per game. Totals bettors will like the chances of an OVER payout in this game at Bet365.
