NBA Wednesday Betting Action

Wednesday night’s NBA betting card is highlighted by three undefeated teams looking to extend their winning streaks; the New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Atlanta Hawks. Can New Orleans and Los Angeles win on the road?

Los Angeles is off to a 4-0 start with a 3-1 ATS record. Their opponent on the road Wednesday night is the Sacramento Kings, who are off to a hot start of their own at 3-1 SU (2-2 ATS). The Lakers are a tempting bet even as road favorites considering their dominance to start the season, but the best bet of the game may be the OVER. Los Angeles is the highest scoring team in the league and are 3-1 on the Over, while Sacramento is the third highest scoring team and are 4-0 on the Over this season.

New Orleans has already proven they can win on the road this season with an impressive upset victory over San Antonio as a 9-point underdog. At 3-0 SU and ATS, New Orleans is worth strong consideration as a road underdog against Houston, who has stumbled out of the gate to an 0-3 record (1-2 ATS).

It will be hard for bettors to pick against Atlanta at home Wednesday night against Detroit. While both teams are off to a 2-2 ATS start, Atlanta is 4-0 SU while Detroit is 0-4 SU. Both teams played last night, so fatigue shouldn’t be a factor. Considering the seemingly predictable result of this game, there may be some value in taking Detroit and the points, considering many bettors will jump on Atlanta and likely move the line.

The Orlando Magic will be a huge favorite in their Wednesday night matchup at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and they have a great chance of covering the large spread. Orlando is only 1-1 SU and ATS, but the loss was to the powerful Miami Heat on the road; the win was a 29-point victory at home over Washington. Minnesota may share a similar fate; they are 0-2 SU and ATS in two road games this season, losing by 20 points to Memphis and 32 points to Miami.

Portland (4-1 SU, 3-1-1 ATS) could be a strong bet Thursday night when they host the Oklahoma City Thunder (2-1 SU, 1-2 ATS). Oklahoma City is on the road against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday night in a game that they will likely win.

But even if Oklahoma City does take care of the Clippers, the travel between Los Angeles and Portland and playing two road games in two nights may cause fatigue for the Thunder. Portland has been a strong team to bet on early this season, and Thursday could keep that trend going.
