Odds on the Cavs and Warriors Meeting in the 2018 NBA Finals

The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers have become the gold standard in the NBA, and three straight meetings in the NBA Finals is a great body of work to prove that. So, what are the odds the powerhouses once again collide on the biggest stage a year from now? One sportsbook is on the case.

BetOnline has the chances of the Cavs and Dubs playing in the 2018 Finals at +165 odds, with the NO option coming in at -190. That number is especially interesting considering the majority of the sports betting industry had the odds of that happening in minus-money for the majority of the 2016-17 campaign.

Unless LeBron James takes his talents elsewhere (which is a rumor that pops up every time he’s due for a new contract), it’s hard to imagine anyone but the Cavs representing the Eastern Conference in the Finals.

While the Boston Celtics claimed the No. 1 seed in the East last season, they’re still a few pieces away from truly challenging the Cavaliers. Other contenders like the Toronto Raptors, Washington Wizards and Atlanta Hawks are nice, but they too lack the overall punch to dethrone Bron Bron and company.

The thought of Kevin Durant joining the Warriors was downright scary and it proved to be a nightmare for the Western Conference in 2016-17. As long as KD, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are roaming the floor in Oakland, the Warriors are going to be the heavy favorites out west.

What do you think? Are the Cavs and Warriors destined to square off for the fourth year in a row, or will a different franchise make a Finals appearance? Have your say in the comment section below.
