Will Ujiri be the Next President of the Knicks?

Much to the pleasure of New York Knicks fans, the team parted ways with Phil Jackson as the team president after three listless years. Rumors started swirling about who would replace Jackson before he had even walked out the door.

Reportedly, Knicks owner James Dolan is targeting Toronto Raptors’ Masai Ujiri to become the next president of basketball operations. Ujiri would not come cheaply for the Knicks, as he was promoted and signed a multi-year contract extension with the Raptors in September and would need to be bought out. The Knicks are on the hook to pay Jackson a whole bunch of money to have him go away, so paying a big sum of money to buy Ujiri out in Toronto might be a hard pill to swallow.

On top of that, Ujiri would need to agree to this deal in general. Leaving a squad he has helped build into one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference without seeing it through might not be easy for him.

The Knicks prying away Ujiri and naming him their next president is being pegged at +200 according to online book Bovada. If you feel like Ujiri stays north of the border, you can get that at -300.
