Atlantic 10 Tournament
As the No. 17 ranked team in the nation, the Temple Owls are expected to roll through the Atlantic 10 Tournament. Their shot begins on Friday in the tourney quarterfinals against St. Bonaventure.
The Bonnies upset Duquesne 83-71 as a 1-point underdog at Bovada in the opening round of the tournament on Tuesday. It will be shocking if they pull off another upset against Temple. During the regular season the Owls slammed the Bonnies 73-55 as a 6.5-point road favorite. Temple has won 12 straight against St. Bonaventure and are 10-point favorites today.
The No. 2 seed in the tournament is Xavier and they’re also currently ranked in the Top 25 at No. 24. They will face Dayton in the quarters on Friday. The Flyers got past George Washington 70-60 on Tuesday, but failed to cover the 11.5-point spread. The Musketeers and Flyers met up twice during the regular season At Xavier the Musketeers defeated Dayton 78-74 as a 5-point favorite. However, at Dayton the Flyers crushed the Musketeers 90-65 as 3.5-point chalk. Today Xavier is a 3-point chalk.
The other tournament games on tap Friday include Saint Louis vs. Rhode Island and Richmond vs. Massachusetts.
The Rams knocked off Saint Josephs on Tuesday in an 87-76 win as a 14-point favorite. Rhode Island will have a much harder time against Saint Louis. During the regular season the Billikens defeated the Rams 62-57 as a 3-point underdog. Rhode Island checks in as a 3-point favorite today.
The Minutemen posted the biggest upset of the tournament so far when they took down Charlotte in the opening round. Mass was a 9-point underdog and defeated Charlotte 59-56. The Spiders beat the Minutemen 70-63 during the regular season, but failed to cover the 12-point spread. Mass is 3-0 ATS in their last three games against Richmond. The Spiders are a big 9.5-point favorite in today’s matchup.
