Big 12 Conference Tournament

Welcome to the Big 12 minefield. This is about as competitive a Championship Week tournament as you could hope for; the Kansas Jayhawks are the No. 1 team in the college basketball polls, and there are five other legitimate contenders chasing them for the Big 12 title.

We’ll see two of those teams in action in Wednesday’s first round meaning Big 12 basketball odds on some very competitive teams.

The Buffaloes (15-15 SU, 13-12-1 ATS) have all the momentum going into this matchup. They’ve won three games in a row and covered twice, ending the regular season with a 101-90 victory over the Red Raiders (16-14 SU, 13-11 ATS) as 4.5-point home faves at Bovada. Texas Tech has lost seven in a row at 2-5 ATS.

Don’t sleep on Mizzou. The Tigers (22-9 SU, 14-11 ATS) may have dropped the cash in their last three games, but this is a defensively sound team that beat Kansas State (+5) to start the Big 12 campaign. They should get a lift from a partisan crowd in Kansas City. The Cornhuskers (14-17 SU, 7-14-2 ATS) are 1-4 SU and 0-4-1 ATS in their last five.

The Cowboys (21-9 SU, 14-9-1 ATS) have played spoiler in the Big 12, beating Kansas (-6) at home and Kansas State (-9.5) on the road. They’re 5-2 SU and ATS in their last seven contests. The Sooners (13-17 SU, 10-17 ATS) managed to split a pair home and away with OSU this year, but they’ve lost eight games in a row at 2-6 ATS.

Texas (23-8 SU, 10-17 ATS) had designs on the national championship this year, but the Longhorns aren’t particularly good at any one thing and have covered just twice in their last nine games. The Cyclones (15-16 SU, 15-12-1 ATS) upset Kansas State (-15) in overtime to end the regular season.
