Bobby Hurley won a pair of national championships as a player; now he's in his first Dance as a head coach, after leading Buffalo to the MAC Tournament championship.

Hurley's Bulls, 6-2 against the spread over their last eight games, begin their first-ever Big Dance when they battle West Virginia in the Midwest Region on Friday afternoon in Columbus and they are only 4.5 point underdogs as a 12 seed, according to March Madness betting lines at Bovada.

Buffalo won its last six games to finish in a tie atop the MAC East this season at 12-6, then as the two seed won the MAC tournament, beating top-seeded Central Michigan in the conference championship game Saturday 89-84. Way back in November the Bulls actually led Kentucky in Lexington at the half by five points, and easily covered as 32-point underdogs, and in December they led Wisconsin at the half in Madison by a point, and easily covered at +22. What other team can say it led those two heavyweights on their home courts this season?

West Virginia owns victories this season over Dance qualifiers Lafayette, North Carolina State, Wofford, Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas, and two over Oklahoma State, while losing close games to LSU, Iowa State and the Jayhawks.
