2016 East Region March Madness Odds

The East Region looks like it may hold one of the most difficult paths to the Final Four this year, as it will feature several powerhouse conferences and several teams with a legitimate chance to pull off an upset.

UNC opened as the favorite to win the East Region, with the Tar Heels listed at +160 per Bet365. UNC was not overly great against the best team’s in the nation as they are just 3-3 SU in their past six games against ranked teams.

West Virginia comes in behind UNC, with the Mountaineers opening at +375. Though WVU faltered in the second-half of the season, they feature one of the most aggressive and tough defenses in the nation. And defense has gone a long way to cutting down the nets in recent years.

Providence offers an intriguing longshot at +2500. Though the Friars slumped down the stretch, they still feature one of the best players in the nation leading their attack in Kris Dunn. The senior could have a huge game in the Round of 64, as he will likely be defending Jordan McLaughlin from USC, a guard that has been having turnover troubles recently.
