The third-seeded Baylor Bears will meet the 14th-seeded Georgia State Panthers as solid favorites in a second-round West Region matchup of the NCAA Tournament. The Bears have won their last five games as favorites this season, and they enjoyed a run to the Sweet 16 in last year’s Big Dance.

They were favored by nearly 10 points early in the week at Sportsbook.

Baylor lost to the top-seeded Kansas Jayhawks 62-52 in the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament as a 1.5-point underdog after defeating the West Virginia Mountaineers and Texas Tech Red Raiders in their previous two games at home. Last year, Baylor opened the NCAA Tournament by beating the Nebraska Cornhuskers 74-60 as a 3.5-point favorite.

Georgia State will be playing in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2001, when the Panthers upset the sixth-seeded Wisconsin Badgers 50-49 as 7-point underdogs in their first game before falling to the third-seeded Maryland Terrapins 79-60 as 12.5-point dogs in their second. The Sun Belt champions are riding a five-game winning streak into the Big Dance but have failed to cover their last two, including an ugly 38-36 victory against the Georgia Southern Eagles as 6.5-point chalk in the tourney title game.
