The Archie Miller era in Indiana has not exactly gotten off on the right foot. The Hoosiers lost their season opener in convincing fashion to Indiana State and then found themselves squeaking past Howard. Now it is time for a real test, as the young Indiana team packs up their bags to take on a ranked Seton Hall team.
The No. 1 area Indiana needs to fix is its perimeter defense. The Hoosiers are allowing opponents to hit 50 percent from beyond the arc through their first two games and it was arguably the biggest reason they lost to Indiana State. Growing pains should be expected for this team on both ends of the court, as four of their six players averaging 20 or more minutes are either freshmen or sophomores.
Seton Hall is on the other end of the experience spectrum with four starting seniors. The biggest change for coach Kevin Willard is shifting Khadeen Carrington from shooting guard to the point. Though Carrington’s shot has not been there so far this season – he is 10-for-26 from the floor and 0-for-9 from deep – he has 10 assists to just two turnovers.
