Kansas Favored In Big 12 Final

The Kansas Jayhawks have another Big 12 Tournament title in sight today, but first they’ll have to get past state rivals Kansas State in the tourney final. Kansas State ran into Baylor in their semifinal matchup Friday night and took care of the Bears 82-75 as a 2-point favorite. Jacob Pullen led the Wildcats with 26 points and Denis Clemente chipped in with 24 points and seven assists. The Jayhawks and Wildcats met up twice during the regular season. In their first matchup on January 1 at Kansas State, the Jayhawks needed overtime to defeat the Wildcats 81-79 as a 4-point favorite. Cole Aldrich delivered a double-double in the win with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Kansas also won the rematch on March 3 at home, as they pummeled the Wildcats 82-65 as an 8.5-point favorite. Henry led the way for the Jayhawks with 19 points, while Pullen netted a game-high 20 points for Kansas State in a losing effort. Overall the Jayhawks have won five straight versus the Wildcats and nine of their last 10 matchups. Kansas was also 7-3 ATS in those 10 games. They are currently ranked No. 1 and No. 9 respectively in the nation and both will have a spot in next week's bracket.

Kansas has a near-perfect mark in Big 12 finals with a 6-1 SU record in seven appearances. They last made it to the final in 2008 when they knocked off Texas 84-74 as a 6.5-point favorite.
