Cincinnati Has Not Lost Three Straight In Over Two Years

After Sportsbook the season with seven straight victories, Cincinnati finds itself on a two-game losing skid. Those losses were not bad considering they came at the hands of Xavier and Florida but the Bearcats are now in a very rare position as a program. Cincinnati has not lost three consecutive games since February 2015. The Bearcats look to get back in the win column Tuesday when they take on undefeated Mississippi State.

Shark Bites
  • Cincinnati G Jacob Evans is averaging 14 points while shooting 59% in the last 5 games.
  • Cincinnati is 8-3 ATS in its last 11 games as favorite.
  • Mississippi State is 2-8 SU in its last 10 games against teams with winning records.

The Bulldogs enter this game without a loss but their schedule has been about as weak as it gets. Mississippi State’s best victory this season came against a Dayton squad that is 4-5 on the year. Coach Ben Howland has the team playing excellent defense, as the Bulldogs are allowing just 61.9 points per game. Scoring depth is also a strength of Mississippi State with five different players averaging double-digit points.

Of course, Mick Cronin’s team relies on excellent defense and ball security but turnovers plagued the Bearcats in their loss to Florida, as they gave up a season-high 21. Getting back to dominating the rebound game will be of the utmost importance – and should be doable – against a Mississippi State team that is only average on the glass. Keep an eye on Cincinnati’s perimeter offense after the team shot just 12-for-43 from beyond the arc in its past two.
