NCAAB Power Rankings: February 28

Despite an upset loss to Colorado last week the Texas Longhorns are still holding on to the top spot in the college basketball Power Rankings.

Following their 91-89 loss to Colorado as a 6-point favorite the Longhorns have dropped two of their last three games both SU and ATS. However, thanks to their strong defensive and offensive stats, and of course some help from a number of other ranked teams getting upset last weekend, the Longhorns are still No. 1.

After Monday's game against Kansas State the Longhorns have only one more game left in their regular season, Saturday at Baylor. Don't immediately count that as an easy win, though. Before defeating the Bears earlier this season the Longhorns had lost four in a row against Baylor, and they're 0-5 ATS in their last five matchups.

While the Longhorns have stuck at No. 1 this week the Kansas Jayhawks still have a lock on the No. 2 spot. The Jayhawks are finishing out the season strong with a 9-1 SU mark in their last 10, and they haven't treated bettors too badly either at 7-3 ATS. Left on their plate in the regular season are Texas A&M and Missouri. Those look like easy wins for Kansas as they are 9-1 SU in their last 10 versus the Aggies and they thumped the Tigers 103-86 as 10.5-point chalk earlier this season.

While the top two spots remained the same again this week there was some movement in the Top 10. Pittsburgh and BYU traded spots, with the Panthers moving up to No. 3 and the Cougars dropping to No. 4. North Carolina rose two spots to No. 5, Duke is up three to No. 7, while falling are Kentucky to No. 6, San Diego State to No.8, Vanderbilt to No. 9, and Florida to No. 10.

The newest member of the Top 25 this week is the Louisville Cardinals. Louisville entered the Top 25 at a solid No. 18 by winning their last three games, which includes defeats of Connecticut and Pittsburgh. The Cardinals finish off their regular season with Providence and West Virginia before heading to what may be the toughest conference tourney of the postseason this year in the Big East.
