The consensus among oddsmakers is that the Southwest Region is a lock for the Kansas Jayhawks.
While some brackets have close regional odds among the top seeds, Kansas is a runaway 13/10 (almost even money) favorite to win here. No. 2 seed Notre Dame is more than 3/1 odds while Purdue is nearly 5/1.
Kansas opens with a cupcake on Friday (Boston U) although low seeds with school names starting with ‘B’ have caused Kansas heartache before (recall Bucknell and Bradley in successive madnesses).
Vandy is the 5-seed but a 30/1 longshot and many feel they could be one of this year’s victim of No. 12 seeds (they face 100/1 Richmond to start the tournament).

Georgetown could cause some trouble but they could also fall to No. 11 USC, another 100/1 longshot.
UNLV is the fourth betting choice here at 25/1 but it has been many years since the Runnin’ Rebels made a run in the Madness.
