Summit Conference Finals Preview
A NCAA Tournament bid is up for grabs tonight in the Summit Conference title game and even though these two teams split the season series Oakland is on a long winning streak and are 4-0 ATS in their last four games at a neutral site.
Indiana-Purdue (IUPUI) Jaguars (25-9 15-3 Summit) vs. Oakland Golden Grizzlies (25-8 17-1 Summit)
Odds are not yet posted for this game at time of writing, but check back to Bovada, as they always have the earliest lines available.
This season Oakland is 7-9 ATS and Indiana-Purdue is 10-8 ATS.
Oakland won the regular season Summit Conference title and they ended the season on fire winning their last eight games and 17 of their last 18 games.
IUPUI also ended the regular season well winning their last four games and six
These two teams split their season series, as IUPUI beat Oakland at home in the end of January, which was the Golden Grizzlies only conference loss of the season.
In the semifinals of the Summit League tournament last night Oakland beat IPFW 71-58 and IUPUI beat Oral Roberts 69-65.
IUPUI is all about their backcourt, as they have two forwards and one G/F that are averaging in double figures led by Robert Glenn (19.6 ppg).
Oakland has a much more well balanced offense with a center, forward, and two guards averaging in double figures led by 6’11” C Keith Benson (17.3 ppg).
Containing Benson and keeping him off the boards is the key for IUPUI winning this game. In their loss to Oakland Benson was a monster going for 23 points with 13 rebounds and 3 blocks, but in their win at home over the Golden Grizzlies he only had 7 points and 7 rebounds.
IUPUI has many frontcourt players that are solid rebounders and if they can win the battle of the boards they have a great chance to win this game.
In Oakland’s last eight games the total has gone Over seven times.
