WCC Tournament Betting Odds Preview

The West Coast Conference Tournament gets underway on Friday, and last year’s tourney winner, the Gonzaga Bulldogs, are favorites to win again this year.

Online sportsbook BetOnline has Gonzaga listed at +110, followed by St. Mary’s at +170 and BYU at +325. Gonzaga went 1-1 against BYU this season, most recently topping them on Saturday 71-68. They also faced off against SMU last month, losing by a score of 69-60.

Gonzaga has actually won the tournament the last three years and 14 times overall, while SMU were the winners in 2012 and 2010. BYU has never won the tournament, but finished second the last two years.

Despite a quarterfinal scare the top-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs remain alive in the 2015 West Coast Conference Tournament, and they also remain the betting favorite for the event at the sportsbooks heading into Monday's semifinals.

The Bulldogs came back from a halftime deficit to defeat San Francisco 81-72 in their quarterfinal matchup, and they're the -350 favorite at 5Dimes to win the tournament as they prepare to take on No. 4 Pepperdine (+2100) in the semifinals on Monday.

The other semifinal has No. 2 BYU taking on No. 6 Portland, with the Pilots coming off an upset 69-52 win over No. 3 Saint Mary's in the quarterfinals. BYU sits second behind Gonzaga at +325 to win the tournament at 5Dimes, with Portland listed at +2050.

After running away with the conference crown the Gonzaga Bulldogs are the top seed and betting favorite at the sportsbooks for the 2015 West Coast Conference Tournament, which is set to take place at the Orleans Arena in Paradise, Nevada.

Gonzaga went 29-2 (14-12-2 ATS) overall during the regular season and 17-1 against West Coast Conference opponents, so they're the No. 1 seed and the -333 favorite at 5Dimes on the odds to win the tournament this week. The top six seeds all get a bye into the quarterfinals of the tournament on March 7.

The Bulldogs' lone WCC loss came against BYU in their regular season finale, and the Cougars are the No. 2 seed and listed at +400 at 5Dimes on the West Coast Conference Tournament odds. Gonzaga and BYU both await the winners of the opening-round matchups between No. 8 San Francisco and No. 9 Pacific, and No. 7 Santa Clara and No. 10 Loyola Marymount.

The semifinals of West Coast Conference Tournament betting action will hit the hardwood in Las Vegas on Monday, with top-seeded Gonzaga looking to knock off rival Saint Mary's and secure their berth in the tourney title game on Tuesday.

Gonzaga edged Santa Clara 77-75 in the quarterfinals on Saturday, while Saint Mary's got past Pepperdine 80-69. The other two quarterfinal results on Saturday were San Francisco 69, San Diego 60, and BYU 85, LMU 74.

That has No. 1 Gonzaga taking on No. 4 Saint Mary's in the early semifinal matchup on Monday night, and No. 2 BYU meeting No. 3 San Francisco in the later game in Las Vegas.

On the WCC Tournament betting lines at 5Dimes heading into the semifinals it's Gonzaga listed as the -103 favorite, with BYU at +185, Saint Mary's at +510, and San Francisco at +800.

BYU, the second seed, is at +235 at 5Dimes on the West Coast Conference Tournament odds, and they'll take on the winner of Thursday's game between Portland and Loyola Marymount when they hit the floor on Saturday.

We are down to the final three games of WCC Tournament betting action, starting with Saturday’s semifinals. The first matchup pits the surprising No. 9 Loyola Marymount Lions against the No.1 Gonzaga Bulldogs, who had a bye to this point of the tournament.

The Lions knocked off Portland, San Francisco, and Santa Clara to get to this round, but they will now have to face a team they lost twice to this season by a combined 64 points.

In the second game, No. 2 Saint Mary’s will face No. 6 San Diego. The Gaels also had a bye until the semis but the Toreros knocked off Pepperdine 62-59 in their first game as 4-point favorites before stunning No. 3 BYU 72-69 as 11.5-point underdogs. San Diego lost both meetings to the Gaels this season, but the last game ended as a PUSH with Saint Mary’s favored by 10 points.

Friday’s WCC betting matchups will feature the meat of the order as the top two seeds, Gonzaga and Saint Mary’s, continue to lie in wait to make their debut in this year’s tournament in Saturday’s semifinals.

Loyola Marymount continued its early run as the ninth and final seed with a stunning 61-60 overtime victory over No. 5 San Francisco as a 5-point underdog on the West Coast betting odds after beating No. 8 Portland 65-54 as a 1.5-point favorite on Wednesday. In tonight’s quarterfinals, the Lions tangle with No. 4 Santa Clara for the third time this season after earning a split both straight-up and against the spread in the regular season.

In the second game, the No. 6 San Diego Toreros will face No. 3 BYU after knocking off No. 7 Pepperdine 62-59 as 4-point favorites on the closing line betting line. These two also split their previous two games this year with each winning at home both SU and ATS.
