2016 West Region March Madness Odds

Despite claiming the top seed in the West, the Oregon Ducks are not the favorites to represent the region in the Final Four. That distinction belongs to the Oklahoma Sooners, but with a loaded bracket, there is far from a guarantee as to who will be in Houston.

OU is a slight +210 fave over Oregon (+275) according to Bet365.

Oklahoma flirted with the No.1 rank in the nation several times this season, but some late season struggles exposed the team. The Sooners are heavily reliant on the deep ball and their starting five, but their starters are shooting a combined 43 percent from beyond the arc.

Oregon gaining a No.1 seed got some interesting looks from armchair pundits, but it is a spot they have earned. The Ducks are riding an eight game winning streak heading into the tournament and are seeing a continued growth in freshman guard Tyler Dorsey.

There are a lot of intriguing teams in the West Region this season, but keep an eye out for St. Joseph’s. The Hawks have a harsh road ahead of them, but their responsible ball control and experience make them a tough out.
