Wildcats roll into Vanderbilt
There are three big ranked matchups on tap in college basketball this weekend and it all gets started on Saturday with No. 2 Kentucky at No. 17 Vanderbilt.
The Wildcats extended their winning streak to six games on Tuesday night with a close 81-75 overtime win over Mississippi State as a 3-point favorite. Kentucky’s big guns all delivered in the clutch in the victory, as John Wall had 18 points, 10 rebounds and eights assists and DeMarcus Cousins added 19 points and 14 rebounds.

The Commodores are coming off a Thursday night win over Ole’ Miss. They defeated the Rebels 82-78 as a 3-point road underdog. A.J. Ogilvy netted a game-high 27 points to go with eight rebounds and Jeffery Taylor had 19 points.
The Wildcats and Commodores met up in Kentucky in January and the ‘Cats easily thumped them 85-72 as an 8.5-point favorite. Cousins led the way for Kentucky with 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Jermaine Beal scored 19 points for Vanderbilt. The Commodores have had some success against the Wildcats at home recently with four-straight wins on home court, while going 2-2 ATS.
College basketball odds – Sunday matchups
The rest of the Top 25 matchups this weekend are on Sunday. They include a Big East battle between No. 3 Villanova and No. 19 Pittsburgh and a Big Ten clash between No. 9 Ohio State and No. 11 Michigan State.
Villanova will be looking to bounce back from a surprising loss to Connecticut earlier in the week. The Wildcats were a 9.5-point favorite but lost to the Huskies 84-75. Scottie Reynolds led ‘Nova with 18 points on 8-of-14 shooting, while Corey Fisher was limited to 14 points on 5-of-12 shooting.
The Panthers took care of Marquette 58-51 as a 6-point underdog on Thursday despite an off-night from leading scorer Ashton Gibbs. He netted only two points in the win while going 0-for-6 from the floor. Brad Wanamaker and Jermaine Dixon picked up the slack by scoring 10 points apiece, while Gary McGhee and Nasir Robinson also had 10 points each.
Last season the Wildcats faced the Panthers twice and won both games as the underdog. Before last season home loss to Villanova the Panthers had won six in a row at home versus the Wildcats, while going 6-0 ATS.
NCAAB odds – Big Ten Sunday
The Buckeyes had their six-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday after a 60-57 upset loss to Purdue. Ohio State was a 3.5-point chalk in the game. Evan Turner had a huge game for the Buckeyes in the loss with 29 points, seven rebounds and five assists, but the rest of the Ohio State squad shot a poor 9-for-27.
Michigan State faced Indiana on Tuesday night and rolled over the Hoosiers 72-58 as an 11.5-point favorite. Draymond Green led the Spartans with 14 points and Kalin Lucas had 13 points.
Last season the Spartans took two-of-three from Ohio State, but the Buckeyes did pull off an 82-70 upset as an 8-point underdog in the Big Ten tournament. In their last five trips to Ohio State the Spartans are 3-2 SU, but only 1-4 ATS.
