College Football Betting Picks - Week 12

College football’s regular season begins to wind down over the next two weeks in anticipation of conference title games and the start of the bowl season, but there is still a full slate of games this Saturday that offers quite a few intriguing matchups.

The following is a brief look at our top two plays as well as an update of which teams the OddsShark Consensus is backing this week. All lines quoted have been provided by Sportsbook and follow our college football guru on Twitter for critical Saturday morning tweets that will help you win more.

Pick of the Week

The No. 11 Clemson Tigers' lone loss of the season to No. 10 Florida State will most likely cost them a shot at winning the ACC Atlantic Division and spot in the conference championship. They still have a lot on the line this Saturday when they host North Carolina State as 17-point favorites.

Clemson is by far the superior team in this conference matchup, but the motivating factor to take the Tigers and lay the points is plain and simple; revenge. Last season the Wolfpack embarrassed Clemson 37-13 as 7.5-point home underdogs after losing the previous seven meetings between the two.

The Tennessee Volunteers started the season 3-1 SU but have faded to 4-6 SU and a costly 3-7 ATS with just one victory in their last six games. This Saturday night, they travel to Vanderbilt as 3.5-point underdogs. The Commodores have very quietly climbed to 6-4 both SU and ATS and they bring a four-game winning streak into this matchup that has them 4-3 in SEC play.

The main reason for the success has been a shutdown defense that is only giving up an average of 18 points a game. The Volunteers have dominated this series in recent years (6-0 SU, 4-2 ATS), but the tables are turned this season with Vanderbilt getting the win at home by more than 3.5 points.

The OddsShark Consensus

The game at the top of this week’s picks is Texas-San Antonio over Idaho as a 6-point road favorite at 70 percent. The Roadrunners have just one win in their last five games but face a Vandals team that has just one win all season long.

Some of the other top picks by the consensus include Arkansas State as a 3.5-point road favorite over Troy at 69.6 percent, Boise State as a 28.5-point home favorite knocking off Colorado State at 68.4 percent, and Air Force beating Hawaii as a 22-point home favorite at 68.3 percent.

The top pick on the total line has the Stanford vs. Oregon game going OVER the 65-point line at 73.1 percent.

The Best of the Rest

This Saturday’s top matchups kick off with a huge Pac-12 showdown between the No. 18 USC Trojans and the surprising No.17 UCLA Bruins with the South Division title on the line. The Trojans are currently 3-point favorites on the road in this time-honored rivalry with the total line set at 63.

The Big 12 features a battle between No. 23 Texas Tech and No. 24 Oklahoma State with the Red Raiders listed as 10-point underdogs on the road against the Cowboys with the total set at 75.

As mentioned above, the No. 13 Stanford Cardinal will take their shot at upsetting the current BCS standings when they face the No. 2 Oregon Ducks on Saturday night. It will take a monumental effort considering that they are 20.5-point underdogs on the road.
