College Football Championship Odds List

The new College Football Playoff is set to start this season, with the College Football Championship Game replacing the BCS National Championship Game as college football's deciding matchup.

Florida State and their Heisman-winning quarterback Jameis Winston edged Auburn by a score of 34-31 in the title game last season, and the oddsmakers have them as the favorite on the College Football Championship Game betting lines for the 2014/15 campaign.

The College Football Championship Game odds as of August 20 at online sportsbook Bovada has the Seminoles listed as the 4/1 favorites after they went undefeated behind Winston last season and pulled out the victory in the title game in Pasadena. Auburn, after coming up just short in that championship contest, are set at 9/1.

The Alabama Crimson Tide will be looking for better results in the new College Football Playoff this year than they had in last year's postseason. The Crimson Tide, heavily favored on the betting lines last year to win yet another national title, instead stumbled and had to settle for a berth in the Sugar Bowl – which they lost 45-31 to Oklahoma. The Crimson Tide, a team that is never counted out in college football, are set at 5/1 on the odds to win the College Football Championship Game in the upcoming season at Bovada.

Oregon is then next on those betting lines at the sportsbook at 7/1, with Oklahoma at 10/1, and Ohio State back at 28/1 thanks to the injury to starting quarterback Braxton Miller. The Ducks didn't make the BCS field last season, instead thumping Texas 30-7 in the Alamo Bowl. The Buckeyes took on the Clemson Tigers in last year's Orange Bowl, losing that game 40-35. Clemson sits back at 75/1 odds for the upcoming year.

Rounding out the top tier of contenders on the August 20 odds to win the College Football Championship Game at Bovada are UCLA at 14/1, Georgia at 14/1, and Michigan State at 22/1. The Spartans took care of the Stanford Cardinal in last year's Rose Bowl, winning by a 24-20 score. Stanford is listed back at 40/1 odds, while USC, Wisconsin, and LSU all sit at 25/1 odds.

The Baylor Bears, who lost 52-42 to UCF in last year's Fiesta Bowl, are at 28/1 on the August 20 College Football Championship Game odds at Bovada as they look to navigate the new College Football Playoff betting slate this season, with South Carolina at 28/1, Florida at 33/1, Mississippi at 40/1, Michigan at 50/1, and Texas, Nebraska, and Notre Dame at 66/1. The Fighting Irish played in last year's Pinstripe Bowl, getting past Rutgers by a score of 29-16.
