College Football Week 8 Betting Recap

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish didn't manage to stay undefeated over the weekend, but they at least managed to grab a payout for their supporters on the college football betting lines as we run down the ATS results for the marquee matchups on the gridiron from this past week.

The Fighting Irish fell 31-27 to the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday, dropping them to 6-1 SU on the season. Notre Dame, though, managed to cover the 11.5-point spread at the sportsbooks in the contest, improving them to 5-2 ATS on the season. Florida State is 7-0 SU but just 1-6 ATS on the year.

Baylor joined Notre Dame in falling from the ranks of the unbeaten over the weekend, losing 41-27 to West Virginia as a 7.5-point favorite; the Bears are now 6-1 SU and 5-2 ATS on the season. Marshall, though, topped Florida International 45-13 as a 22.5-point favorite to go to 7-0 SU and 5-1-1 ATS on the season, while Ole Miss beat Tennessee 34-3 as a 16.5-point favorite to sit at 7-0 both SU and ATS.

In battles between ranked teams over the weekend Kansas State topped Oklahoma 31-30 as a 7-point underdog, TCU beat Oklahoma State 42-9 as a 10.5-point favorite, Arizona State got past Stanford 26-10 as a 3.5-point underdog, and Alabama destroyed Texas A&M 59-0 as a 13.5-point favorite. The Crimson Tide are now 6-1 SU but just 2-5 ATS.

Elsewhere, Utah covered 2.5 points in a 29-23 win over Oregon State, Michigan State covered 15.5 points in a 56-17 win over Indiana, Ohio State covered 21.5 points in a 56-17 win over Rutgers, Georgia covered 3.5 points in a 45-32 win over Arkansas, USC covered 21 points in a 56-28 win over Colorado, Nebraska covered 7 points in a 38-17 win over Northwestern, and Oregon covered 20.5 points in a 45-20 win over Washington.

And Clemson topped Boston College 17-13 but couldn't cover the spread of 4.5 points on the road. Clemson is now 5-2 SU and 4-3 ATS on the season, while Boston College is 4-3 SU and 5-2 ATS.
