2015 C-USA Football Betting Preview

Following their strong performance in 2013, when they rose to the top of the Conference USA East standings with a 7-1 conference record, much was expected from Marshall in 2014.

The Thundering Herd, pegged as heavy -450 betting favorites a year ago, did not disappoint, winning their first 11 games overall and eventually claiming the C-USA title with a 26-23 win over the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs.

The Herd return to action in 2015 without star quarterback Rakeem Cato, but maintain their perch as reduced favorites in Conference USA betting at BetOnline with +200 odds.

The Bulldogs closely follow Marshall with C-USA odds of +225. Louisiana Tech topped the C-USA West with a 7-1 record, with all but one of their victories coming by a wide double-digit margin.

The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers spoiled the Herd's bid for an undefeated season in 2014, claiming a 67-66 overtime win over Marshall in a thrilling regular season finale. The Hilltoppers finished at 4-4, but sport strong +325 odds to win their first-ever conference title in C-USA championship betting at BetOnline.

The Rice Owls round out the front of the pack at +650 on the C-USA odds. The Owls took a step back last season, losing two of their final three games to finish 5-3 after taking the C-USA West title with a 7-1 record in 2013.

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders lead the middle of the pack, pegged at +1400 in college football futures betting after finishing second in the C-USA East with a 5-3 record.

The Florida International Golden Panthers trail at +2500, followed by the UTEP Miners, pegged at +2800 on the C-USA betting lines. The Florida Atlantic Owls sit at +3300 at BetOnline, ahead of the Old Dominion Monarchs at +4000, and the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles at +5000.

The UTSA Roadrunners have tumbled to a distant +8000 following a disappointing 3-5 season in 2014, while the Charlotte 49ers make their Conference USA debut in 2015 as +30000 betting longshots.
