Miami Beach Bowl Matchup

Tulsa's electrifying offense is fueled by the fantastic running back combo of James Flanders and D'Angelo Brewer. Flanders led the way this season with 1,529 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns while Brewer added on 1,320 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns. As a team, the Golden Hurricane rushed for 260.9 yards per game, good for eighth-best in the nation.

After being blown out by the Ohio State Buckeyes in Week 2, Tulsa settled into its schedule and went 8-2 SU and 6-3-1 ATS over its last 10 games, including a 5-1 SU and 4-1-1 ATS record down the stretch. All three of Tulsa's losses came on the road against quality opponents in Ohio State, Houston and Navy. The Golden Hurricane averaged 44.8 points per game over their last six games.

If Central Michigan hopes to put up a fight against Tulsa, the Chippewas will need to find a way to get their season back on track. The Chippewas opened the year with a 3-0 SU and ATS run that included an outright upset over Oklahoma State on the road as a 17.5-point underdog. But since then, Central Michigan is just 3-6 SU and 2-7 ATS over its last nine games, including a 1-4 SU and ATS slump to end the regular season.

Central Michigan will be seeking its first bowl win since 2012 in the Miami Beach Bowl. The Chippewas are 3-4 SU and 4-2-1 ATS in seven bowl appearances over the last decade. Tulsa has had more postseason success in recent years with a 4-2 SU and 5-1 ATS record over its last six bowl games.

The Golden Hurricane have a clear offensive advantage in this matchup and have more than enough firepower to blow the Chippewas away. However, Tulsa does rank 89th in the nation in scoring defense, allowing 31.5 points per game, and if Central Michigan can get its offense going early, the Miami Beach Bowl could see plenty of fireworks.
