NCAAF Betting: The Iron Bowl
The Iron Bowl was first contested between Auburn and Alabama in 1893 but Friday's edition of the game might be the most significant with Auburn primed for a BCS title game berth with a win over the team that won it all in 2009.
How Friday and Saturday’s action plays out will go a long way in deciding this season’s BCS picture. And if you think all three top-rated teams will lose, it's an 80/1 payout at Bovada.
Here’s a look at this weekend’s key games.
FRIDAY'S COLLEGE FOOTBALL ODDS
Despite being undefeated, Auburn is a 4-point underdog on the road against Alabama at Bovada. Both of Alabama’s losses have come on the road; at home, they are 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS. Auburn has played just three games on the road this season, but are 3-0 SU and 2-1 ATS in those three.
Auburn has covered the spread in four straight and five of their last six games. Auburn needs a win in the Iron Bowl to stay on course for a BCS National Championship bid.
Oregon is -18.5 at Bovada at home against Arizona. Arizona started off the season strong, but has lost two straight games to Stanford and USC. Despite a 7-3 record, Arizona is just 3-6 ATS. At 10-0, Oregon has earned their number one ranking, but they play at another level at home. The Ducks are 3-0-1 ATS at home and have won every home game by at least 21 points.
No. 4 Boise State (-14.0) at No. 19 Nevada (+14.0) - Matchup Report
Many experts believe that a win over Nevada would allow Boise State to jump TCU in the BCS standings. Boise State is -14.0 at 5Dimes in this important matchup. Nevada is 10-1 SU this season but just 5-5 ATS. Boise State, on the other hand, is not only 10-0 SU, but 8-2 ATS as well.
SATURDAY COLLEGE FOOTBALL ODDS
No. 5 LSU (+3.5) at No. 12 Arkansas (-3.5) - Razors have played 6 straight OVERs (best OVER line is at Bovada)
The SEC West has already been decided, but this should still be a great game between two excellent teams. Arkansas is a 3.5-point favorite at BookMaker at home. LSU has just been average ATS at 5-5 despite their 10-1 overall record, while Arkansas has had a strong season both SU (9-2) and ATS (8-2).
No. 13 Oklahoma (+2.5) at No. 9 Oklahoma State (-2.5) - Matchup Report
Before the season started, all the talk in the Big 12 was about Oklahoma and Nebraska, but with a win here, Oklahoma State could cap off a great regular season and win the Big 12 South. Oklahoma State is -2.5 at Bet365 at home. Oklahoma is just 2-2 SU and 1-3 ATS on the road this season.
