NCAAF Line Moves: LSU bigger favorite
Generally speaking, the biggest line movements on the college football card tend to come from games in non-BCS conferences. That’s what makes this week’s line movements so interesting; four games featuring BCS conference foes have had line movements of over four points.
Here’s a look at those four games which had the most severe line movements in Week 7.
BYU @ Oregon State (from +2.0 to -3.0 at Bovada)
Before last Saturday, Oregon State was 0-4 SU and 1-3 ATS, and their opponent (Arizona) was one of the most popular picks on the board. But the Beavers beat Arizona outright 37-27, and bettors seem to be impressed enough to be loading up on them against BYU this week. BYU is 4-2 SU and 2-4 ATS this season.
LSU @ Tennessee (from -12.5 to -17.0 at 5Dimes)
As if having one of the nation’s best defenses isn’t enough, for the second straight week, LSU will be playing an opponent without their starting quarterback. With Tyler Bray out, experts and bettors alike aren’t giving Tennessee much of a prayer. Since 2000, LSU is 5-2 against Tennessee, but they are split ATS at 2-2-3.
Louisville @ Cincinnati (from -12.0 to -16.5 at TopBet)
Cincinnati is 3-0 SU and ATS in their last three games with three straight wins by 27 or more, so bettors were quick to jump on them early against this Louisville team that has struggled mightily this season. Louisville is 2-3 SU and ATS, but interestingly enough, they are 2-0 ATS on the road this year.
Florida State @ Duke (from +9.0 to +13.5 at BetOnline)
Last week, one of the biggest line moves was against Florida State, a move that turned out to be profitable for Wake Forest bettors as they pulled off the outright upset. This week, bettors are betting heavily in FSU’s favor. It could be their history against Duke; they are 10-0 SU and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against the Blue Devils.
