No. 9 Iowa vs No. 24 Arizona

The only ranked matchup on the college football weekend slate is a battle between No. 9 Iowa and No. 24 Arizona.

This will be the first real test for both schools this season after both opened with a pair of cupcakes matchups. The Hawkeyes clobbered Eastern Illinois in their season opener and took care of Iowa State 35-7 last week as a 13.5-point favorite. Iowa dominated the Cyclones on both sides of the ball, out-gaining Iowa State 479-275.

Ricky Stanzi threw for 204 yards with two TD passes and a TD run, and Adam Robinson rushed for 156 yards and a TD on 14 carries.

Jewel Hampton also had a strong game on the ground with 84 yards and a TD on 20 carries. On defense the Hawkeyes came within 1:56 of shutting out the Cyclones while recording three interceptions and holding them to 78 rushing yards. Arizona has outscored their opponents 93-8 through two games and pounded Citadel 52-6 last week.

The Wildcats' ground game tore through the Bulldogs, as Nic Grigsby and Greg Nwoko combined for 179 yards and five touchdowns. Nick Foles picked apart the secondary with 214 yards passing, a touchdown, and a pick. The Wildcats defense manhandled the Bulldogs and held them to only three completions on 14 passes.

This looks like it could be a tough defensive battle with both teams boasting stud units early this season. The Hawkeyes' secondary will be the toughest Stanzi will have faced this season, while the Wildcats' rebuilt front seven will have their hands full with Robinson and Hampton running the ball down their throats. When the Hawkeyes and Wildcats met up at Iowa at year ago the Hawkeyes came away with a 27-17 win as a 4-point favorite. They're a 1.5-point road favorite at Bovada in the rematch and will be looking to extend their ATS road winning streak to nine games. The chances of an upset occurring in the Top 3 this weekend looks slim with Alabama, Ohio State, and Boise State all drawing substandard opponents.

The Crimson Tide should get Heisman winner Mark Ingram back this weekend just in time for what should be a rout of Duke as 24-point favorites. Ingram missed the Tide's first two games after preseason knee surgery, but Alabama didn't struggle without him.

Last week 'Bama ripped Penn State 24-3 as 14-point favorites behind 144 yards and a TD from RB Trent Richardson. With Richardson able to handle the load, expect Ingram to be reintroduced into the fold gradually. Duke came out on the losing end of one of the highest-scoring games in ACC history last week after falling to Wake Forest 54-48 as a 5.5-point underdog. Sean Renfree passed for 358 yards with four touchdowns, but that wasn't enough with the Duke defense giving up more than 500 yards. The Buckeyes took care of Miami 36-24 as an 8.5-point favorite last week. Terrelle Pryor was a killer both through the air and on the ground with 233 yards passing and a TD and 113 yards rushing and another score. The Buckeyes defense was dominant in the win, as two of the Hurricanes touchdowns came on special teams.

The Bobcats should be scared of the Buckeyes after losing to Toledo 20-13 last week as 10-point favorites. Boo Jackson had a horrendous game with three interceptions and it will likely only get worse against Ohio State's smash-mouth defense. Boise State returns to the field after a week off to face Wyoming as a 23.5-point favorite at Bovada.

In their opener back on September 6 the Broncos squeaked past Virginia Tech 33-30 as a 1-point underdog after Kellen Moore hooked up with Austin Pettis for a TD strike with 1:14 to go.

Moore finished with three TD passes and should feast on the Cowboys this weekend. The schedule-maker must hate the Cowboys. A week before drawing the Broncos, Wyoming faced Texas and got slammed 34-7 as 27.5-point underdogs. Wyoming is 0-4 lifetime against Boise State with a 1-3 record ATS.
