Tests for undefeated NCAA teams
Only eight undefeated teams remain after Wisconsin and Oklahoma fell last week, and three of those undefeated teams get extremely tough tests this week on the college football odds board. Who will survive in this dogfight of a season?
Fresh off of a stunning home loss to Texas Tech, No. 11 Oklahoma will look to regroup and keep their Big 12 title hopes alive with a road win over No. 10 Kansas State. At 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS, the Wildcats have been one of the biggest surprises of the season, but they still haven’t shaken public skepticism as they are a 14-point underdog at home at 5Dimes. Oklahoma is 7-1 SU and 4-4 ATS in their last eight against Kansas State.
No. 4 Stanford improved to a perfect 7-0 both SU and ATS in their 65-21 win over Washington last week, but they get their toughest road test of the season this week against No. 20 USC. Stanford is 3-1 SU and ATS in their last four games against USC, and has beaten every opponent they’ve faced this year by at least 26. The Cardinal are a 9-point road favorite at TopBet.
No. 6 Clemson has navigated through a tough schedule to get to this point, and they get another dangerous road test this week at Georgia Tech. After starting off 6-0, Georgia Tech has lost two straight, but they’ve won four of their last five against Clemson. With an 8-0 SU and 7-1 ATS record and an offense that’s clicking, the Tigers are a 4.5-point road favorite at BetOnline.
After topping two undefeated teams in dramatic fashion at home, No. 9 Michigan State takes their Big Ten title run on the road for another big test against No. 13 Nebraska. Both teams are 6-1 SU, but Michigan State (5-2) has been substantially better than Nebraska (2-5) this season ATS. Despite this fact and their recent heroics over big teams, bookmakers appear to be expecting a letdown from the Spartans this week as Nebraska is a 4-point favorite at 5Dimes.
