Opening Odds: LSU Alabama Betting
Three games will be played between two ranked teams Saturday, but all of the nation’s eyes will be glued on one - the clash of two SEC titans when LSU takes the field against Alabama.
The No. 1 LSU Tigers are a 4.5-point underdog at 5Dimes on the road against the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide. Both teams have looked virtually untouchable to this point, winning every game by double-digits en route to strong ATS records (Alabama is 7-1 ATS, LSU is 6-2 ATS).
Alabama’s superior statistics (passing and rushing for more yards, holding opponents to less passing and rushing yards) and home field advantage make the spread make sense, but very little seems to separate these two teams in what should be an amazing game. LSU beat Alabama 24-21 at home last season as a 7-point underdog, but Alabama is 3-1-1 ATS in their last five against LSU.
Another SEC matchup featuring two Top 10 teams is the No. 8 Arkansas Razorbacks hosting the No. 10 South Carolina Gamecocks. Both teams are 7-1 SU and 4-4 ATS. Arkansas is currently a 4.5-point favorite at TopBet. Arkansas has dominated this series in recent years; since 2001, the Razorbacks are 7-3 SU and 8-2 ATS against the Gamecocks, including a 4-1 SU and ATS record over their last five games.
No. 17 Kansas State is getting very little respect as a 21-point underdog at BetOnline on the road this week against No. 3 Oklahoma State. This is in no small part due to their performance last week, when they lost 58-17 as a 13-point underdog at home to Oklahoma to pick up their first loss of the season. Since failing to cover the spread in their first game of the season, Oklahoma State has covered in seven straight, defeating Baylor 59-24 as a 14.5-point favorite last week.
No. 4 Stanford and No. 5 Boise State both have what appear to be very manageable road games to stay undefeated. Stanford is a 21-point favorite at Oregon State, while Boise State is a 42-point favorite at UNLV, both at TopBet.
