Pac-12 2011 Odds Preview

The conference formerly known as the Pac-10 has a new name and a new look, with the additions of Colorado and Utah, the formation of two six-team divisions, and a conference championship game. The Pac-12 also has the added intrigue of having one of its best teams, Southern Cal, ineligible to win the conference title.

Oregon Ducks (Odds to Win Pac-12 at Bovada 2/1)

The two-time defending conference champs and national runner-ups return 11 starters, including RB LaMichael James (1,700 rushing yards last year) and QB Darron Thomas (30/9 TD/INT). But only two starters return on the o-line, and five on defense. The Ducks get USC at home, but they have to play at Stanford.

Stanford Cardinal (Odds to Win Pac-12 at Bovada 3/1)

Stanford, coming off its best season in 70 years, returns 11 starters, led by QB and Heisman favorite Andrew Luck (32/8 TD/INT) and 1,110-yard rusher Stepfan Taylor. But only two are back on the o-line and head coach Jim Harbaugh is gone. And while the Cardinal get Oregon at home, they play at USC.

Arizona State Sun Devils (Odds to Win Pac-12 at Bovada 11/2)

ASU, 4-5 in the conference last year, returns 15 starters as it hopes to turn USC's ineligibility into a berth in the conference championship game. The Sun Devils lose their starting QB and leading receiver, but get back their top two rushers, the entire o-line, and seven on defense.

Utah Utes (Odds to Win Pac-12 at Bovada 13/2)

For its first season in its new conference Utah returns 12 starters from a team that went 10-3 last year, including QB Jordan Wynn and five of the defensive front seven. And while they play at USC they get Arizona State at home and miss both Oregon and Stanford.

Arizona Wildcats (Odds to Win Pac-12 at Bovada 8/1)

The Wildcats return a league-low 10 starters from a team that went 4-5 in the conference last year. Almost all of their skill players return, but they have to replace the entire o-line and three-quarters of the d-line.

Oregon State Beavers (Odds to Win Pac-12 at Bovada 16/1)

Oregon State has 12 starters back, but just four on defense, and they'll miss RB Jacquizz Rodgers.

Washington Huskies (Odds to Win Pac-12 at Bovada 16/1)

Washington returns 15 starters, including 1,400-yard rusher Chris Polk and eight on defense, but loses QB Jake Locker.

UCLA Bruins (Odds to Win Pac-12 at Bovada 18/1)

UCLA gets back a league-high 17 starters for a team that is 8-19 in conference play in three years under head coach Rick Neuheisel.

California Golden Bears (Odds to Win Pac-12 at Bovada 20/1)

Cal loses its starting QB, leading rusher, and seven on defense from a team that went 3-6 in the conference last year.

Colorado Buffaloes (Odds to Win Pac-12 at Bovada 22/1)

The Buffaloes return 16 starters, including nine on offense, for their first season under new head coach Jon Embree.

Washington State Cougars (Odds to Win Pac-12 at Bovada 100/1)

Washington State returns 15 starters for its fourth season under head coach Paul Wulff.

Southern California Trojans

USC can't win the conference title, but it can be a pain for everybody it plays. The Trojans return 13 starters from a team that went 5-4 in the conference in its first season under head coach Lane Kiffin.
