Saturday Setup: NCAAF Week 13

There are plenty of injuries and suspensions as usual to take into consideration as you round out your college football betting card this week. Here’s a look at some of the late-week college football updates.

Mike Ball kicked off of team

The Nevada Wolf Pack decided to part ways with their leading rusher and kick returner Mike Ball this week after he violated team rules and protocol. Ball led the nation’s ninth-best rushing attack with 704 yards this season, and was perhaps even more valuable in the return game with 1,695 yards on 70 returns. Nevada will wrap up its regular season this week as a 1.5-point underdog on the road at Utah State at Bovada.

Jonas Gray out with knee injury

Notre Dame will also be without one of its leading rushers against Stanford this week with Jonas Gray lost for the season with a knee injury. Gray was second on the team in rushing with 791 yards and first in rushing touchdowns with 12. The Irish still have Cierre Wood, their leading rusher, but the lack of a two-pronged attack may hurt against one of the nation’s stingiest rushing defenses. Notre Dame is a 7-point underdog on the road at 5Dimes.

Conner Halliday out with lacerated liver

Washington State starting quarterback Conner Halliday took so many hits in last Saturday’s overtime loss to Utah that it was revealed after the game that he had a lacerated liver. As a result, he will miss Saturday’s rivalry game on the road against the Washington Huskies and veteran quarterback Marshall Lobbestael will get the start. Washington State is a 9-point underdog in the Apple Cup at BetOnline

Winter wonderland expected in Utah

Two teams used to cold weather will be playing in it Friday as the forecast indicates there will be light snow when the Colorado Buffaloes visit the Utah Utes. This likely favors the Utes, who are the superior rushing team at 141.5 rushing yards per game to Colorado’s 108.7, and the far-superior rushing defense at 97.27 rushing yards against per game to Colorado’s 191.83. Utah is a 22-point favorite at TopBet.
