SEC Championship Has Very Low Total

Two of the best defenses in the nation clash with the SEC Championship hanging in the balance when the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Florida Gators meet at the Georgia Dome Saturday. With two stellar defenses, it shouldn't come as a shock that the total is incredibly low, but that does beg the question; do such low totals manage to stay UNDER?

So far this season in college football there have been 18 games that have closed with a total of 39.5 or lower. The UNDER has hit in 12 of those 18 games (66.7 percent) with the average combined score tallying 32.6 points.

Alabama is third in the nation in points allowed, with Nick Saban’s squad allowing just 185.8 yards and 14.3 points per game. Not to be outdone, the Gators have held opponents to 172.3 yards and 15.5 points.

The biggest threat to this total going OVER is likely Heisman-favorite Derrick Henry. The Alabama running back has scored the second-most points by an individual player in the nation and has tallied 12 touchdowns in the past six games.
