NFL gameday LIVE betting

We'll be here all afternoon providing you the latest NFL injury updates, big performances, bad performances and what it means for your bets…

4:45 pm – Favorites don’t get it done in early action – The favorites weren’t kind to bettors during the early action of Week 16 with a 4-4-1 record ATS. A lot of money was lost on the Saints and Giants who both lost outright as big favorites.

ADVERTISEMENT Bet the Cowboys and Redskins in the Sunday Night late game at Bovada now. Dallas just 1-5 ATS past 6 vs Washington, who have covered 5 in a row.

4:10 pm – Bucs pull off upset – The Buccaneers shutout the Saints in the second half to get to overtime and a field goal in the extra frame gave them a 20-17 upset win over New Orleans. Shocking results, as the Bucs were a 14-point underdog!

3:51 pm – Bengals on top again – The Bengals were supposed to whip the Chiefs, but a TD pass from Carson Palmer just put them ahead 17-10. You’ll need a miracle in the last two minutes if you took the Bengals as a 13-point favorite.

3:45 pm – Bucs keep pouring it on – The Saints second half collapse continues versus Tampa Bay as the Bucs ran back a punt for a TD to tie the game 17-17. No chance the Saints cover as a 14-point favorite.

3:39 pm – Patriots clinch East – New England’s wrapped up the East after crushing Jacksonville 35-7. They also covered the 9-point spread.

3:22 pm – Chiefs keeping it close – The Chiefs and Bengals are tied 10-10 after a Matt Cassel pass. If you took the Bengals as a 13-point favorite you can likely say good bye to your money.

3:20 pm – Giants get a TD, finally – The Giants are finally in the end zone, but they’re still way back against Carolina, down 34-9. Not a good day for New York, who is an 8.5-point favorite.

3:12 pm – Williams is sidelined – Add Ricky Williams to today’s long injury list. Williams suffered a shoulder injury and his return is doubtful.

3:11 pm – Buccaneers coming back – Carnell Williams rumbled in for a TD and the Bucs have cut the Saints lead to 17-10. New Orleans needs to respond to cover the 14-points spread.

3:03 pm – Eagles are healthy – In late game action, Jeremy Maclin and Brian Westbrook are both active for the Eagles. It’s been a long time since Westbrook’s seen the field and his time on the field will be limited. The Eagles are a 7-point favorite vs. Denver at Bovada

3:01 pm – second half injuries – A number of notables have gone down or didn’t take the field in the second game. Atlanta TE Tony Gonzalez is out with a calf injury and no expected to return. Caroline WR Steve Smith hurt his forearm on a hard hit and is questionable to return. New Orleans RB Pierre Thomas did not come out for the second half and is likely down for the day.

2:59 pm – Dolphins finally find the end zone – Miami has finally scored a TD, but it may be way too late, as they still trail Houston 27-10. The Texans are known for blowing leads in the second half so keep an eye on this one.

2:52 pm – Jackson inactive – In late game action today the Rams will be without Steven Jackson, who is inactive with a bad back. That’s good news for Arizona, who are a 16-point favorite over at Bovada

2:48 pm – Benson’s back – Cedric Benson has returned to the field for Cincinnati and looks good with a 32-yard run to open the second half for the Bengals.

2:45 pm – Panthers still roaring – Carolina hasn’t let up in the second half and on their first possession they marched down field and finished off with a TD toss from Matt Moore to Steve Smith. Panthers lead 31-0 as an 8.5-point underdog.

2:39 pm – Favorites stumbling through first half – If you’re riding favorites today you had to put up with some great and awful games so far today. The bad are the Dolphins and Giants, who are getting killed right now as favorites. At least the Patriots and Packers are getting it done.

Halftime scores:
New Orleans up 17-3 (-14)
New England up 28-0 (-9)
NY Giants down 24-0 (-8.5)
Pittsburgh up 20-10 (-3)
Miami down 27-3 (-2)
Cincinnati tied 3-3 (-13)
Green Bay up 24-3 (-13.5)
Atlanta up 10-0 (-8)
Cleveland up 17-9 (-3)

2:19 pm – Grants shreds Seahawks – Ryan Grant just ripped off a 56-yard touchdown run to give Green Bay a 21-3 win over Seattle. For bettors that means the Packers are covering again as a 13.5-point favorite.

2:13 pm – Panthers continue to maul Giants – Carolina leads 24-0 and Matt Moore is picking them apart, having completed 10-of-12 passes for 111 yards with two TDs. Taking the Panthers as an 8-point dog should pay nicely.

2:03 pm – Patriots in control – The Patriots appear to be on their way to clinching the AFC East, leading the Jaguars 21-0. New England is a 9-point favorite and will cover easily unless Jacksonville’s offense wakes up.

1:55 pm – Benson is out – Cedric Benson has left the game with a leg injury, leaving the Bengals running game in the hands of Larry Johnson. The Bengals are a 13-point favorite at Bovada but there’s no score right now versus Kansas City.

1:50 pm – Texans keep pouring it on – Houston keeps putting it to the Dolphins and an Arian Foster TD run gives them a 24-0 lead. The chances of the Dolphins covering 2-points isn’t looking good.

1:48 pm – Panthers holding Giants in check – Carolina is taking care of the Giants so far with a 10-0 lead. Not what you want to hear if you took the Giants as an 8.5-point favorite

1:35 pm – Saints in high gear vs. Bucs – New Orleans has responded well from their first loss of the season. Drew Brees just hooked up with Robert Meachem on a TD strike and the Saints lead 14-0. If they keep this up they should cover the 14-point spread.

1:28 pm – Moss is on his game – No need to worry about Randy Moss today. He just found the end zone and the Patriots lead Jacksonville 7-0 as a 10-point favorite.

1:24 pm – Texans taking it to the fish – Houston has a quick 10-0 lead over Miami after a field goal and a Matt Schaub TD pass to Andre Johnson. Miami needs to respond quickly to keep the Texans from mounting what could be an insurmountable lead.

1:20 pm – Packers up early – After a Seattle turnover Aaron Rodgers quickly moved the ball downfield and finished off with a TD toss to Brandon Jackson to give Green Bay a 7-0 lead over Seattle. If Green Bay’s defense gets it down this one should be a rout.

1:16 pm – Maroney drops the ball for New England – After cruising down field to the goal line the Patriots looked like they were headed to an easy TD and an early 7-0 lead over Jacksonville. Instead Laurence Maroney fumbled and the Jags recovered. Not the start New England wanted.

1:09 pm – Harrison rolling again – Jerome Harrison has picked up right where he left off last week with a seven-yard TD run for Cleveland. The Browns are up 7-0 as a 3-point chalk versus Oakland.

1:07 pm – Ryan is ok – Matt Ryan’s toe hasn’t been a problem early on after he and Roddy White hooked up on a 42-yards touchdown. Atlanta is up 7-0 over Buffalo as a 9-point favorite

1:00 pm - Kickoff! - Good luck with your picks!

12:30 pm - Free picks - I totally bomobed with my picks last weekend, but I'm ready to bounce back with what should be a pile of winners in my early Week 15 picks ...

Tampa Bay +14
Buffalo +9
Miami -2
Green Bay -14
Carolina +8
Cleveland -3
Jacksonville +10
Kansas City +14
Pittsburgh - 3

12:06 pm – Brohm starts for Buffalo – As expected earlier in the week, third-string QB Brian Brohm gets the start for Buffalo today with Trent Edwards and Ryan Fitzpatrick both inactive. Brohm faces the Falcons as a 9-point underdog and I’m starting to regret taking the Bill as the underdog.

12:02 pm - Gameday trends - With an hour until kickoff here are some interesting trends for the early games

Tampa Bay is 5-1 ATS in their last 6 at New Orleans
Tampa Bay is 4-2 ATS in their lat 6 on the road

The total has gone UNDER in 6 of the last 7 between Kansas City and Cincinnati
Buffalo is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 on the road

Jacksonville is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games
Jacksonville is 2-5 ATS in last 7 vs. New England
New England is 4-2 ATS in their last 6 at home
Carolina is 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games
NY Giants are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games
Baltimore is 1-8 SU in their last 9 at Pittsburgh

11:59 am – In and Out for Seattle – The Seahawks will have running back Julius Jones in the backfield today, but leading receiver Nate Burleson will sit once again. Either way the Seahawks look to be in big trouble as 14-point underdogs versus Green Bay at Bovada

11:56 am – Ravens missing Reed – Ed Reed will not play for the Ravens today which should be great news for Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger. Both the Steelers and Ravens are missing top-notch safteys with Troy Polamalu out so tons of scoring and a OVER could be in the cards here.

11:53 am – Ryan is in, Turner is out – Good and bad news for the Atlanta Falcons today. The good is that QB Matt Ryan will get the start. The bad is that RB Michael Turner is inactive. Jason Snelling will handle most of the carries, but the Falcons may not be a great pick now as a 9-point favorite versus Buffalo.

11:48 am – Shockey is out – Jeremy Shockey is inactive for the Saints today due to a injured toe. The leaves Drew Brees minus Shockey and Lance Moore, but Reggie Buch is expected to play despite a bad hamstring.

11:38 am – Bryant is active – Antonio Bryant is active for Tampa Bay and will start against New Orleans. That may not make a whole lot of a difference with the Bucs listed as a 14-point underdog at Bovada

11:10 am – Williams will not play – According to reports out of Carolina DeAngelo Williams will not suit up for Carolina today. That will mean a full load for Jonathan Stewart and possibly a busier day for QB Matt Moore. Over at Bovada the Panthers are a 8-point underdog versus the Giants
